Description

We didn’t think we could make an even smaller Covert Dock, but this mini charger packs a 20W punch so you’ll never haver an excuse not to play some fun local multiplayer game on the big screen. Simply plug Covert Dock Mini into the wall and connect your TV and Nintendo Switch and you’re good to go - epic gaming memories on tap.

The ‘Mini’ is essentially the same size, if not smaller, than your typical smartphone charger but arguably more convenient with foldable prongs and a full 4K HDMI dock inside. Now that phone’s don’t even come with chargers, we think the Covert Dock Mini is the perfect option for not just gaming but all of your portable gadgets.

How to Use

To charge your handheld console: simply unfold the prongs out of the Covert Dock Mini and plug it into a power outlet. Then plug the included USB-C 3.2 cable from the USB-C port to your handheld console.
To connect your handheld console to a big screen: connect an HDMI cable (sold separately) from the HDMI port of the Covert Dock Mini to your television or monitor’s HDMI input port. While most devices will not need you to power the Covert Dock Mini to use, the Nintendo Switch specifically needs the power to go into docking mode - which can be confirmed when the console screen turns off and is broadcasted to the big screen. Also note that Joy-Con’s need to be detached from the console to work in docked mode.

Will this work with my device?

The Covert Dock Mini is one of the most versatile docks supporting not only the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck’s unique docking requirements, but also the wider USB-C DisplayPort (DP Alt Mode) standard compatible with just about every dockable USB-C device including most handheld gaming consoles (ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, MSI Claw, AyaNeo, Anbernic), Apple devices (Macbook, iPad, iPhone), PC laptops, and many Android tablets and phones.

Can I use this on any screen?

Any screen with HDMI input will work, which generally includes any TV, projector, or monitor made within the last decade. Devices that do not have HDMI such as an iPad or Laptop monitor will additionally need a ShadowCast device to convert that HDMI signal to USB-C.

Does this work with ShadowCast?

Yes, you can use all versions of ShadowCast with the Covert Dock Mini to connect your laptop or tablet instead of a TV. Simply plug in the HDMI side of ShadowCast into the Covert Dock Mini HDMI port.

Why aren’t my Joy-Cons working?

Unfortunately the Nintendo Switch does not allow attached Joy-Cons to be used while docked and need to be detached and used wirelessly.

Why doesn’t this work with the Nintendo Switch dock?

In essence you can’t dock a dock.

I LOVE IT!

I've had my eye on a Covert Dock for a while & I finally bought it. And MAN I should've gotten one sooner. It's super convenient to leave near my TV to plug in my Switch for gaming sessions but also it's great for using my phone on my TV. That was a pleasant surprise! I highly recommend the Covert Dock product line for gaming & screen sharing!

A great Secondary and Travel Dock

This works flawlessly with my Switch. Picked one up for streaming on my Mac and the Covert Dock Mini along with my Shadow Cast Pro 2 do the job. I don't need my TV or to move my Switch Dock in order to just play using my iMac screen and makes the set up so easy. I haven't done it yet but I'm also exited that I can now play my switch on any tv in the house without having to move the Nintendo Dock around. I think if you need a second dock or travel with your Switch this is a must buy.

Works with steam deck

At first when I used this, my steam deck stopped out putting to my tv at home but worked perfectly at my girlfriends house. I disconnected the dock from the wall and suddenly worked perfectly.
