Very good as an entry level capture card
So you're looking to break into gaming content creation. It's going to be a hobby for you and you don't want to break the bank. A cheap but decent microphone is easy. There are great free video editors, audio editors, and recording software... But unless you're willing to risk an off brand capture card, an affordable capture card was never easy, until now.
I got this as a Kickstarter backer. For the record, I already own an Elgato card but was curious about this little thing, so I went for it. I've been pleasantly surprised by it's build quality and for live content, I actually prefer it over the significantly more expensive Elgato for the superior latency.
The lack of 1080p/60fps is a drawback but I'm more than content with 720p/60fps for streaming. 1080p/30fps is there if that's your thing but it's all personal preference. Given that this card costs less than half of what my Elgato costs, I can completely forgive the quality limits.
In future iterations of the product/Genki Arcade, it would be nice to possibly see DLSS be togglable if such a thing would be possible with how it all runs. Either way, some upscaling filters baked into the software would really go a long way. I'd say the lack of options in the software is the only reason I'm docking a star here.
All in all, a great card that offers great value for money in a market that is saturated with expensive alternatives
Thanks for Reviewing our product,
Don't know if you already know, if you punch in the Konami code up up down down left right left right B A, you can unlock the resolution options to scale up and down on your own, but might introduce a bit more latency, but its there for you to experiment a bit.
