Make no mistake, this is not just for gamers
When I first heard about this on Kickstarter, I understood why it was pitched toward gaming devices. But, as a computer technician, I saw the simplest solution of turning your web browser into a monitor for a headless device, such as a server or a laptop with a busted screen.
Since it's USB-C and supports the UVC camera protocol, it works swimmingly on Android devices, essentially turning them into a spare monitor when needed. While I hoped that Genki could provide a native Android app, I was able to find a decent third-party app to access the Shadowcast as a UVC camera.
Lastly, since it comes up as a camera, I could easily select the Shadowcast as a camera source in Zoom, effectively showing people in the meeting exactly what I need them to see.
Brilliant little device, and one of the few super-successful crowdfunding campaigns I was proud to be a part of.
