Father's Day is a great excuse to celebrate the dads on the Genki team. While we spend our days building gaming gear, our nights and weekends look a little different these days. Sometimes that means family game nights. Sometimes it means squeezing in a few rounds after bedtime.
We asked some of the dads at Genki what they've been playing lately.
Eddie: Building Memories in Pokopia
"My daughter and I have spent the most time together in Pokopia. It's always fun coming back after a few days and seeing what she's built while I was away. Sometimes it's a movie theater. Sometimes it's a picnic to commemorate something we did together in real life.
We've also played Yoshi's Crafted World, but Pokopia has become our little shared space."
For Eddie, the best part isn't progressing through objectives. It's seeing his daughter turn real-life memories into something creative inside the game.
Hayden: Mario Kart World and Family Game Night
"If there's one game that's been getting the most playtime lately, it's Mario Kart World. My daughter can jump in and have fun right away, which is important at her age.
We've also had great luck with games like Just Dance and Unspottable. They're easy to learn, get everyone moving, and create those moments where parents and kids are laughing together instead of worrying about who's winning."
Hayden's daughter is five and a half, and for him the sweet spot is games that are easy to pick up, easy to share, and don't require a long tutorial before the fun starts.
Neil: Ball X Pit and the Power of Short Sessions

"My dad game of the past year has been Ball X Pit. My little one isn't quite ready for Mario Kart or Pokopia just yet, so this one's more for me.
The biggest reason I love it is that I can jump in for a quick session whenever I find a few free minutes. It's easy to pick up, surprisingly challenging, and ridiculously addictive."
Parenthood doesn't always leave room for marathon gaming sessions. Sometimes the perfect game is the one you can enjoy in ten minutes before the next adventure begins.
Chris: Coming Soon
Chris's little co-op partner is still in the tutorial phase of life, but we'll check back in soon. For now, he's enjoying every level-up that comes with being a new dad.
From all of us at Genki, Happy Father's Day. And if you're looking to fill your dad bag with some new gear, our Father's Day Deal is a pretty good place to start.
