The grappling hook has a bright light that turns on when plugged in. This is unpleasant when trying to sleep next to a charging phone or any other devices when using the grappling hook at night.
It would be nice if the light was optional in future models. I would prefer no light.
It works as intended, and the magnet is strong enough to stay connected, but not too strong to pull the whole connection out of the switch. I have small children so have worried about the length of life I will get out of usb c ports or the switch 2 itself when accidentally stepping on the cord while plugged in or pulling it. No worries any more, no pulling the switch over or off anything as the cable just comes right off.
I have been looking for a good magnet charging system for controllers and such for awhile but was on the fence for a long time as a lot of the connectors on Amazon have mixed reviews. Enter Genki and their grappling hooks! I bought a pair to test and have never looked back and now I am using them everywhere, everyday from tablets and phones to controllers and even on random stuff like Yubikeys. They align perfectly evertime, have a heavy duty feel to them, and are slim enough to be used on tablets and phones with thick cases. They are a bit more expensive than most of the junk on Amazon but I am more than happy to pay the price as they certainly feel and perform at a premium level. Give them a try!
They do have a little led that lights up to let you know something is charging though depending on the wall adapter that light may always stay on or may only turn on during charging. It really depends on whether your wall adapter or power port has circuitry to only draw power when charging.
I bought a Meta Quest 3 recently, which has a badly positioned sideways connector.
when using it with a long usb-c cable, chance is given, you might rip it out of the glasses.

the grappling hook delivers both on a solid and well seated connection, as well as guaranteeing the port will not experience severe damage.
be it usb-c dongles, a power bank with power delivery or what else comes to mind, this grappling hook does a decent job keeping your device safe.
tested with usb-c docks for my laptops, quest 3 as mentioned and even accessories.
I bought a few packs on sale to attach to all the usb-c devices I use regularly. As we move towards usb-c being the standard for everything, these get more and more convenient. Highly recommend!
