Great Concept However could be betterExpensive for what it does, however i under this is a niche itemI do not like the fact your have to take this in and out if you which to plug into your tv and cant have both at the same time.Requires getting an additional extra long USB C cable to plug into your laptop

This little device can record anything that has an HDMI out port, and it does a great job at that. I've used it for my Nintendo Switch to play games while recording, and it works amazingly! I like the two modes it has, one for resolution, and one for framerate, which both look awesome and are great to play games with. Overall, a great product for anyone wanting to make videos using a game console.

I wanted to be able to stream my switch to my pc so my online friends could watch me play whatever. This product does the job and the stream is way better than the last method I used did. It was a 4k External Video card that died after a single day, but this isn't that product. Though I haven't tested it since the first few days, I'm confident that it still works, unlike the other product I tried. It has its own software that displays the video without having to go through the camera app or a streamer software suite. I didn't want to have to install OBS Studio for this purpose, though it was free to use last I checked.Also another thing to note is that on the highest quality stream setting, it can freeze, quite possibly due to the Genki Shadowcast freezing. When that happens, turn the quality to the lower setting and then back up and that fixes it.

I bought the shadowcast and the covert dock, planning to use them together. However, I am rarely ever able to get them to work properly. I am using genki brand usb c to usb c cables and everything, and if I use the shadow cast with my switch dock it works fine. But, when using the covert dock it doesn't.

Works well for the intended purpose.
